Every company and industry have a human resources department providing plenty of opportunities for varied job roles. It involves hiring and firing, employee engagement and relations, health and safety, payroll and pensions - to name a few. Recruitment is a core function of human resource management, it's the hiring part of the company.
Within the Armed Forces, HR is responsible for providing support that affects Soldier's overall welfare and well-being and within the industry, it's the same but applied to civilians.
Larger companies may have an in-house HR department, whereas some smaller ones may outsource their HR staff using e.g. recruitment agencies or consultancies.
